This day is celebrated in honor of former Prime Minister of India Chaudhary Charan Singh and as his birthday. Farmer's Day was established in 2001 AD. When Chaudhary Charan Singh ji was in the post of Prime Minister, he had decided to work on the interest of farmers as he himself belonged to a peasant family and knew all the problems of farmers. He became the Prime Minister for a short time.
